PURRS NEEDED!!

UPDATE:

Teri & the cats from Furrydance is right, it's a hematoma. Both ears are infected & the v-e-t wants to keep Festus overnight. Mama didn't even ask how much it was gonna cost, she was so sad he had to stay.

Please send out some purrs for Festus. Mama was loving on him & found that his left ear is all swollen & puffed up. She said it feels hot to touch & so tight it could explode! She's gonna try to get him in to the v-e-t tomorrow before she has to go to work. Please purr that it's nothin serious....

I'm purring as hard as I can, Festus. I hope it's nothing really bad.

Oh, he's got an aural hematoma--that puffy earflap is filled with blood. It can happen spontaneously from just shaking your head or be an effect from a nick or from an ear infection that caused him to scratch at his ears. Here's a link to some info on them:

From what we read about aural hematomas, they look awful and feel painful, but treatment has changed over the years and it can be fixed relatively easily. Sending healing vibes and purrayers for Fessy...

Sending lots of purrs and tail wags for Festus to get well quickly. It's so hard to leave them at the vet's.
